Born in Sofia, Bulgaria into a family of professional musicians, George began piano at age 6 and percussion at 8. He graduated from the State Music Academy in Sofia (1995), earned his Master of Music at Ithaca College (1998) and his DMA at the University of Oklahoma (2004).
His dissertation, Asymmetrical Rhythms for Marimba, published 2008, laid the foundation for his pioneering work in odd-meter percussion technique.
George has performed across Europe and the USA, including orchestral and chamber engagements, recorded broadcast appearances, and leads the Chicago-based Northfield School of Music and the Chicago Soloists.
His compositions and method books are used worldwide.
